Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea ( Multistability+Invariance) )

Salvador Dali 1976

I think this painting has two principles of Gestalt psychology which respectively are multistability and invariance. The multistability also means alternatives. There is a nude lady against the window or Lincoln's portrait. The Invariance can be understand is transformation. The painting is different as the original Lincoln's portrait, but we still can recognised it absolutely is Lincoln.

We can see one nude lady in short distance and Lincoln's face from far away distance both in the image. If I create a picture with a nude lady in far away distance and look close see the Lincoln's face which could be another meaning of transformation. The invariance and multistability here also have changed from one object to many objects.
